Lincoln, Neb. - Chris Phipps represented the Huskers at the North American, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) Under-23 Championships over the weekend in Guanajuato, Mexico.
A native of Patterson, New Jersey, Phipps finished first in the triple jump with a leap of 53-1 1/2 (16.19). The mark tied his personal best jump, which he set at the Sun Angel Classic in Tempe, Ariz., earlier this year.
The three-day NACAC U-23 meet took place at Paralympic Track Stadium from July 6-8, as athletes age 20 to 22 represented 32 nations from North America, Central America and the Caribbean.
