Huskers Add to 2013 Roster

Lincoln, Neb. - The Nebraska track and field team announced on Thursday the addition of seven athletes to the 2013 roster, along with the 19 who were announced in February.

The group includes Grandview, Mo., native James White, who is a two-time Missouri Class 4 High Jump Champion (2009, 2010) from Grandview High School. He most recently competed at Iowa Central Community College where he was named a NJCAA Indoor All-American and was the 2012 NJCAA High Jump National Champion.

Also on the list is Latvian native Janis Leitis, who is the 2009 European U23 Long Jump Champion and Nebraska native Josh Jochim out of Platteview High School.

Matt Gilbert will join the Huskers from Fenton High School in Fenton, Mich... he finished third in the 1,600 meters at the 2011 Michigan State Division I track and field meet, with a personal-best time of 4:17.04... has also recorded a personal-best of 9:47.60 in the 3,200 meters ... in cross country Gilbert won the 2011 Greater Flint Area Cross Country Championship, while also winning the 2011 Holly Invitational Division II Cross Country Race.

Bloch has recorded personal-best times of 4:27.00 in the 1,600 meters and 9:15.53 in the 3,000 meters ... finished first in the 1,600 meters at the Pasadena Games with a time of 4:30.73... placed sixth in the 1,600 meters (4:27.00) and seventh in the 3,200 meters (10:02.55) at the Mission League Finals... Bloch also finished fourth at the California D4 State Championships in 2011.

Also finished second in the high jump at the 2010 AIA State Championships with a mark of 5-4.

Was also the long jump champion at the 2009 Latvian National Championships, recording a mark of 24-10 1/2 and the 200 meter champion with a time of 21.57... Finished 20th in the long jump at the 2010 European Championships with a jump of 25-10...
