Lincoln, Neb. - Prior to hosting the adidas Classic on Saturday, the Nebraska track and field team competed at the NWU Invitational, hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan, on Friday at the Devaney Center Indoor Track. With just a small group of athletes in competition, the Huskers came away with two victories.
Mila Andric captured the Huskers' first win of the day with a time of 8.69 in the 60 meter hurdles. Greta Kerekes followed her lead with a time of 8.73 to finish second.
Annie Jackson claimed the women's weight throw title with a toss of 54-4 (16.56) for first-place, as Mary Morales finished fourth in the weight throw, recording a personal-best mark of 51-7 (15.72).
Mara Griva came in second in the 60 meter dash, recording a personal-best time of 7.94, and Jeanelle Facey came in sixth after notching a personal-best time of 8.06. Kara Mostoller posted a personal-best mark of 8.17, while Ellie Ewere recorded a time of 8.20.
The Huskers will be back in action tomorrow at 12:30 p.m., when they host Kansas Air Force, Iowa, Houston and Wichita State for the adidas Classic, which is a scored meet and will have a separate men's and women's team champion.
