The Nebraska men’s gymnastics team will host their intrasquad meet this Thursday and Friday as they continue to gear up for the 2012 season. The meet will be held at the Bob Devaney Sports Center and is free of charge and open to the public.
The meet will be split over the course of two afternoons. Thursday’s action will begin at 4 p.m. and will be held in the men’s gymnastics practice area on the north side of the Bob Devaney Sports Center. Competition on Thursday will include vault, parallel bars and high bar.
Friday’s portion of the meet will include rings, floor exercise and pommel horse. Rings will begin at 3:45 p.m. in the men’s gymnastics practice area, and floor exercise and pommel horse will begin at 6 p.m. and will run in conjunction with the women’s gymnastics intrasquad meet in the main area of the Bob Devaney Sports Center.
The Nebraska men’s gymnastics team achieved an NCAA Top Ten finish in 2011 and returns 12 letterwinners from that squad as well as six freshman competitors. NU will open its 2012 campaign on Jan. 14 at the Rocky Mountain Open in Colorado Springs, Colo. against Oklahoma, Air Force and Arizona State. Nebraska will host four home meets this season, beginning with the Huskers’ Jan. 22 matchup against Air Force.
