The Nebraska swimming and diving team defeated the Husker alumni team on Saturday morning, 140.5-112.5.
The eighth-annual event was highlighted by plethora of former Huskers in attendance, both competing and observing. Notable alumni in attendance include Alan Kelsey, who won three events on the day, and Mike Irvin, who contributed two wins of his own for the alumni.
Other alumni in attendance include CJ Bray, Jenna Stroud, Emilee Crawford, Mindy Giraudeau, Peter Giraudeau, Bailey Ingles, Kaitlin Arntz, Kelsey Grushecky and Julie Giehl.
The Huskers prevailed on the backs of strong performances by Ellan Dufour, Ashley Reiter and Shannon Guy. Dufour won multiple events on the day (mixed 100-yard fly, mixed 100-yard IM) while Reiter took the crown in the 50-yard breast and Guy won the 25-yard freestyle. Rebekah Land also won the mixed 50-yard backstroke event.
The Huskers will enjoy two weeks of preparation before the regular season begins with a visit to the Devaney Natatorium by South Dakota State. The dual is scheduled for Oct. 22.
