Husker Duo Edged by USC

Los Angeles—Madeleine Geibert and Stefanie Weinstein were edged in doubles at the ITA Riviera All-American on Thursday, ending their run just short of qualifying for the main draw. Their loss wraps up NU's time at the All-American.

Geibert and Weinstein began their day with a strong 8-1 victory over Clemson’s Monika Kochanova and Klara Vyskocilove. The pair moved on to face No. 3 seeded USC, with the winner of the match moving into the main draw of the tournament. Despite a hard-fought match, Geibert and Weinstein fell to USC’s Kaitlyn Christian and Sabrina Santamaria, 8-5.

The Huskers completed the ITA All-American with an overall singles record of 6-4 and a doubles mark of 3-2. NU will take two weeks off before beginning their final fall tournament at the ITA Central Regionals.
