The Nebraska softball team opens its fall exhibition season this weekend, when NU hosts the Husker Fall Classic on Friday and Saturday at Bowlin Stadium.
In a change from the original schedule, Nebraska will face Colorado State in a doubleheader beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday in the only two games of the day. On Sunday, UNO will join the tournament and the three teams will meet in round-robin play beginning with Colorado State vs. UNO at 11 a.m., followed by Nebraska and Colorado State at 1:30 p.m., and the Huskers and Mavs at 4 p.m.
Admission is free for the entire weekend and gates will open at Noon on Saturday and at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday. The Husker Fall Classic opens an eight-game fall schedule for Nebraska that concludes next weekend with doubleheaders against Wayne State and Creighton at Bowlin Stadium. The Huskers are coming off a 41-14 season in 2011 and return eight starters and six all-conference players, the highest total in school history.
