Men's Basketball

Baseball

• Four Big 12 Tournament titles, tied with Texas for the most of any school
• Big 12 Regular Season Championship in 2001, the first regular season league title since 1950
• First College World Series appearance in 2001 with win over Rice; last game ever played at Buck Beltzer Field
• Dave Van Horn named Baseball America's 2001 National Coach of the Year
• Qualified for three College World Series in a five-year span; 2001, 2002, and 2005
• Reached the NCAA Tournament nine times
• Swept the Big 12 regular season and tournament championships in 2001 and 2005
• Won a school-record 57 games in 2005

• Bryan Snyder is the first Husker in school history to win four conference titles, doing so from 1999-2002 at 157-pounds
• Craig Brester is named the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the 2009 Big 12 Chamiponships after winning the 197-pound title
• Won first Big 12 team title in 2009
• Celebrated its 100th year in program history in 2010-2011
• Jordan Burroughs won three conference titles in 2008, 2009, and 2011 while also becoming school's first two-time national champion after winning titles in 2009 and 2011

 

 

Track and Field

• Six indoor women's titles and two outdoor women's titles
• Captured the 2011 Big 12 women's indoor title
• Won 15 men's conference titles, including six straight indoor titles from 2000-2007
• Winningest program in the Big 12 era with 23 team titles, topping Texas' 20
• Won 168 individual Big 12 titles
• Head Coach Gary Pepin is inducted into the USTFCCCA Hall of Fame in 2008

• John Cook becomes head coach for the 2000 season

• Three AVCA National Players of the Year; Greichaly Cepero in 2000, Christina Houghtelling in 2005, and Sarah Pavan in 2006

• Huskers win 90 straight home matches from Sept. 11, 2004 to Sept. 13, 2009

• Imke Reimers was a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American in 2007 and 2008

• Coach Jacobson earned his 250th career victory in 2010 against Air Force
• Four NCAA Tournament appearances
• Earned the program's first-ever NCAA tournament win in 2010, a 4-2 triumph over Illinois

Men's Tennis

• Christopher Aumueller is named Big 12 Newcomer of the Year in 2009
• Ryan Haith wins Huskers' first Big 12 singles title in 2006
• Huskers qualify for nationals as a team for the first time in 2010, make a repeat trip in 2011

Women's Golf

• Sarah Sasse earns first-team All-America honors in 2003
• Sarah Sasse is named Big 12 Golfer of the Year
• Six All-Big 12 selections
• Huskers make the NCAA Championhips as a team in 2000 and place 19th

Rifle

• Rifle makes its first NCAA appearance during the 1999-2000 season and places 3rd
• Huskers take 2nd at the 2006 NCAA Championships, highest team finish
• Nicole Allaire wins the Huskers' first NCAA title in 2000 in smallbore
• Kristian Fehlings wins the 2006 air rifle NCAA title
• 10 NRA First-Team All-Americans
• Huskers join the Great America Rifle Conference for the 2004-05 season after being independent
• Huskers win the 2006 GARC regular-season title
• Two GARC tournament titles in 2005 and 2006

 

Soccer

• Eight Big 12 championships (five tournament, three regular season)
• 10 straight NCAA Tournaments from 1996-2005, including eight Sweet 16s and two Elite Eights
• Nebraska had its best season in 1996, producing a 23-1 record while sweeping the first-ever Big 12 regular season and tournament championships.  The Huskers reached the Elite Eight and were eliminated by No. 3 Portland, 1-0.
• The Huskers Swept the Big 12 crows in 1999 when they finished 21-1-2 and advanced to the Elite Eight.  Nebraska took both Big 12 titles again in 2000 and was ranked as high as No. 2 nationally, its highest ranking in school history.
• School-record crowd of 4,830 was in attendance for the Aug. 30, 2002 matchup against No. 2 North Carolina, ended in 1-1 tie
• Moved to the Nebraska Soccer field on the UNL campus for the 2005 season
• Unbeaten at home in 2009 with a 9-0-2 record
• Morgan Marlborough claimed back-to-back Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year awards in 2009 and 2010 and became NU's first All-American since 2005.  During the 2009 season, Marlborough, a freshman, produced two hat tricks, including a school record-tying four goals in a 7-1 victory over Akron

 

Bowling (begins 1991, enters NCAA 2004)

• Eight time National Champions; 1991, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2004, 2005, and 2009
• The Husker Bowling Facility is the only facility in the country that is leased by the athletic department for exclusive use of the bowling team
• Head Coach Bill Staub enters the Nebraska, Lincoln, and Omaha bowling halls of fame
• 28 NTCA Scholastic All-Americans
• 51 NTCA All-Americans
• Six National Collegiate Bowlers of the Year
• Four National Collegiate Rookies of the Year
• 77 Team Tournament Titles
