Twelve Nebraska softball players were named to the 2011 Big 12 Commissioner's Spring Honor roll, including 10 repeat selections and two first-time honorees.
Seniors Julie Brechtel (eighth selection) and Heidi Foland (eighth selection), junior Nikki Haget (sixth selection), sophomore Megan Southworth (fourth selection) and freshman Morgan McCann (second selection) each continued their streaks of earning a spot on the honor roll every semester of their career. Other repeat selections included juniors Madison Drake (fourth selection), Ashley Guile (fourth selection), Ashley Hagemann (fifth selection) and Kirby Wright (third selection). First-time honorees included freshman Tatum Edwards and sophomore Brooke Thomason.
Haget and Southworth both made the list with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average. To earn a spot on the honor roll, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA.
