Lincoln - The NCAA sent out its invitations for the 2011 women's gymnastics national championships on Monday morning, setting the 12-team field at the NCAA Championships hosted Kent State University and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission at the Wolstein Center, April 15-17 in Cleveland, Ohio.
The Corvallis Regional runner-up Huskers (16-8) will take on Kent State, Utah, Florida, Alabama and Oregon State in the second semifinal session on Friday, April 15. The event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. (EST), and NU will begin on vault, followed with a bye, bars, beam, a bye and floor.
The first semifinal session, which is scheduled for noon Friday, will include Arkansas, as well as Oklahoma, UCLA, Michigan, Georgia and Illinois.
Senior Erin Davis and junior Lora Evenstad, the 2011 Corvallis Regional vault and floor champions, respectively, will lead the ninth-ranked Huskers into their 20th NCAA Championships appearance.
