The Nebraska swimming and diving team completed the first session at the Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships in Austin, Texas on Wednesday night.
In the first event of the championships, the Huskers finished in fifth-place in the 200-yard medley relay. The team consisted of Ellan Dufour, Shannon Guy, Kelsey Grushecky and Ariel Weech. Texas A&M won the event in 1:39.41, followed by Texas and Kansas.
The second,and final event of the night was the 800-yard freestyle relay. The Huskers finished in fifth-place with a time of 7:35.69. They finished behind Texas with a time of 7:21.02. Second and third-place went to Texas A&M and Missouri, respectively.
The Huskers sit in fifth-place overall after the first session with 56 points. Texas A&M and Texas are tied for first-place with 74 points each.
The Championship will resume Thursday at 10:00 a.m.
