Lincoln - The Nebraska women's gymnastics team moved up to a No. 9 national ranking this week in the latest GymInfo poll released Monday. The poll, which is calculated by total season average, also ranks NU second in the South Central region and in the Big 12 Conference. In addition, the Huskers are ranked fifth nationally in team vault scoring (49.171), 11th on bars (48.896), 24th on beam (48.438) and are 10th on floor (48.933).
Individually, senior Erin Davis is second on vault, with an average of 9.925. Davis has captured four vault titles as a senior. Junior Lora Evenstad is ranked 10th in the all-around (39.275) and is tied for seventh on floor (9.875). Sophomore Janelle Giblin is 23rd in the all-around (39.075) and tied for 18th on bars (9.838).
The Huskers hit the road next weekend for a tri-meet with eighth-ranked Michigan and No. 2 Stanford in Ann Arbor, Mich., on Sunday, Feb. 13 at noon. Nebraska's next home meet is on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 2 p.m., when Bowling Green, Iowa and Kentucky come to town for the Masters Classic.
