Four Huskers Head to Las Vegas for Winter Cup Challenge

Senior All-American Anthony Ingrelli headlines a group of four Huskers competing this weekend at the Winter Cup Challenge in Las Vegas.

The event, which is hosted by USA Gymnastics, features many of the nation's top collegiate gymnasts as they look to earn a spot on the U.S. Senior National Team. Joining Ingrelli this week in Las Vegas are freshman Wyatt Aycock, CJ Schaaf, and Eric Schryver.

Ingrelli will vie for a spot on still rings, while Aycock, Schaaf, and Schryver are scheduled to compete in the all-around.

For the rest of the Huskers, they will have an extra week for to continue preparations for the home triangular against Oklahoma and University of Illinois-Chicago next Sunday, Feb. 13, at the Devaney Center.

The Winter Cup Challenge features two days of competition. Scores from both days of competition count toward the final rankings for the all-around and individual event results. Each season, the Winter Cup serves as an individual re-ranking event for USA Gymnastics, while also helping to determine spots on the U.S. Junior and Senior National Teams.

The first day of competition starts Thursday, as the preliminary round and is broken down into three sessions. Session I starts at Noon (central), session II beings at 5 p.m. and session III is at 10:45 p.m. Saturday's finals are scheduled for 9:15 p.m.
