Opening Statement
"I just first want to say that I am proud of our football team. They played a very good football opponent. Our guys played well, played tough, and played hard throughout the football game. I also give credit to Nebraska, they're a good football team, and they played well also."

On if he thought the defense played well enough to win on most nights
"Well I like the way they played, but you got to play well enough to win the football game, and sometimes you have to hold people under certain points. Sometimes your offense doesn't play as well, and you've got to keep them off the board. But I think for the most part we had a great opportunity to win this game. We just didn't get enough done on both sides of the ball."

On if the defense got fatigued
"I didn't see it as a fatigue factor. They just made good plays. They are a good football team. So I thought our team played well. We had good substitutions by our coaches. I don't think fatigue was a factor."

On if third downs we a big factor
"Yes, they had critical third downs early in the game and late in the game, and I think that's a little bit of what's been happening all year. When we are in third-down situations, and we haven't been able to get off the field. Today offensively we couldn't get anything going for us. A lot of that is credited to their defense. They are a very good team on both sides of the ball. But we'll get better at it."

On returning to Nebraska
"I focus on the game, and earlier today when we came to the stadium around 11, to have my team come in, and that part of it. There was a little bit of awkwardness for me to come into the stadium on the other side, and being here as an opponent rather than the same side. But that's about it, once you come into the game everything is focused on what we need to get done"

On talking to Tom Osborne within the last 24 hours, and what did he say
No, we kind of missed each other. We tried to touch base with him at the hotel. We tried to touch base with him when we came to the stadium earlier today, but we just missed each other. But we did talk on the phone just briefly. He wished me success today, told me to keep moving forward and he's there for me in all support. "

On if he was happy to only have to play Nebraska once
"I'll agree with that, especially for myself. I've been here for many years for me being on the other side and it definitely feels awkward."
