Los Angeles, Cali. - Tuesday marked the second day that NU women's tennis saw action at the ITA Riviera All-American Championships. Madeleine Geibert and Stefanie Weinstein posted a 1-1 mark in qualifying doubles.
Geibert and Weinstein were defeated in their opening match against Michaela Kissell and Dominika Zaprazna of Marshall. Kissell and Zaprazna are ranked 20th nationally and are seeded number two in the qualifying doubles bracket of the tournament. Geiberta and Weinstein then dropped into the consolation round, where they picked up a victory against Keri Frankenburger and Whitney Wolf of LSU.
"Madeleine and Stefanie played some great doubles today," said Assistant Coach Hayden Perez. "Even in their loss, the intensity was great and only a few points made the difference. I was proud of the way we responded in the consolation match and came out ready to play."
