Its about Practice
It has been a busy few days at the Devaney Center. The Huskers are currently wrapping up their first practice of the season and the first pre-cast steel walls began going up at the Hendricks Training Complex adjacent to the Devaney Center. Here is a photo gallery of both opening night practice as well as some construction photos.
For fans who want to go to practices to watch the Huskers, check out the practice schedule page which has been updated for the rest of October. It also has information on parking for practice. As a reminder, enter the Devaney Center on the main level in the South Concourse. The schedule will be updated throughout the season so check often for updates.
Later this weekend, look for some information on the Huskers' opening exhibition game on Nov. 3. We are planning some promotions to thank the fans and give them a chance to see this year's Huskers before the regulars-seaosn opens.

Overtime Week Underway
It has been early mornings for the Nebraska basketball team over the last week, as they conduct Overtime Week, the final leg of their preseason conditioning before practice begins next week. The first leg of double sessions has begun at 6 a.m. for most of the past week with a shorter afternoon session.
"The conditioning and toughness part that we are putting them though will benefit them once the season gets here," said Doc Sadler. "This week combines both physical and mental conditioning and can be taxing.
"The first thing I think about (Overtime Week) is waking up in the morning and having to run," said junior guard Brandon Richardson. "Knowing that we are going to get better during this week is a positive thing."
The afternoon workout features a variety of short workouts, including a rope wave workout, carrying tires and pushing weights.
"When I thought saw the different things for the first time, I didn't think I would make it," Richardson said when he saw the afternoon workout that strength coach Rusty Ruffcorn had created. "It is tough, once you go through the workout, not that bad."

Wooden Award Watch List Announced
The Huskers will face some of the best players in the country during upcoming season, as Nebraska could see as many as 10 players that were on the Wooden Award Watch List released this week. The Big 12 featured seven players on the 50-player Wooden Award watch list, while the Huskers will also face Vanderbilt's Jeffery Taylor in the opening round of the Puerto Rico Tip-off in November and USC's Nikola Vucevic when the Trojans visit Lincoln in late November for the Big 12/Pac 10 Hardwood Challenge.
