?Meet-N-Beat the Huskers? Draws Hundreds to Hawks Championship Center

Lincoln - An estimated 400 kids and many more Husker fans attended the 16th annual "Meet-N-Beat the Huskers" event Wednesday night at the Hawks Championship Center.

Several youth soccer clubs and teams from the Lincoln and Omaha areas were in attendance, as they had the opportunity to meet the 2010 Huskers and participate in soccer drills with the NU players. The majority of the attendees stayed past the 8 p.m. end time to get their posters and schedule cards autographed by the team.

At the beginning of the event, assistant coach Dan Bassett addressed the crowd and gave instructions for the evening, while the 2010 Huskers individually introduced themselves.

The Huskers' host 10 home games on the NU campus this fall, starting Friday against Loyola Chicago at 5 p.m. Nebraska is also home this Sunday when the Huskers take on Loyola Maryland at 10 a.m.
