Lincoln -- University of Nebraska outfielder Adam Bailey was honored Friday, as he was a first team All-Midwest Region selection by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
The senior right fielder finished his senior year with a .368 batting average with 18 homers and 69 RBIs. He topped all Big 12 players in both homers and RBIs, and also finished the year in the top 10 in the league in slugging percentage (.691, second), total bases (154, third), batting average (eighth) and runs scored (57, 10th).
A 24th-round selection in June's MLB Draft by the Houston Astros, he led Nebraska in both multi-hit (25) and multi-RBI (22) games, becoming the first Husker since Alex Gordon to have more than 20 multi-hit and multi-RBI games in a season. A two-year starter for the Huskers, he was a career .348 hitter with 30 homers and 119 RBIs in just 104 career contests at Nebraska.
