Montgomery Scores Four in WNBA Debut

Former Nebraska women's basketball player Cory Montgomery scored four points and added two rebounds and one assist in her WNBA debut for the New York Liberty on Wednesday.

Montgomery, a 6-2 forward from Cannon Falls, Minn., connected on both of her free throw attempts but hit just 1-of-5 shots from the field, including misfiring on both of her three-point attempts in a 65-60 exhibition loss to the Washington Mystics. As a team, the Liberty hit just 33.9 percent of their shots from the field in a low-scoring affair.

Montgomery, who was a two-time All-Big 12 selection for the Huskers, will return to practice with the Liberty over the next week to prepare for the club's exhibition finale with former Husker teammate Kelsey Griffin and the Connecticut Sun on May 11.
