Wyatt Ties for Second at USF Invitational; Huskers Tie for Sixth

Dade City, Fla. - Andrew Wyatt finished in a career-best tie for second, as the Nebraska men's golf team tied for sixth at the 23-team South Florida Invitational on Sunday at Lake Jovita Golf Club.

Wyatt posted a second straight round of 68 on Sunday and finished the tournament with a career-best 209 total (-7). The junior recorded eight birdies in the final round while leading the Huskers to an 869 tournament total.

Brandon Crick tied for 17th at 215 (-1) after a final-round 72. Scott Willman posted a 74 on Sunday to finish tied for 38th at 221. Mike Coatman tied for 68th at 226 and Brett Nymeyer tied for 93rd at 231.

The story of the weekend was Wyatt though. Wyatt, whose previous best finish at a tournament was a fourth-place showing at the season-opening Fairway Club Invitational, recorded his third and fourth career rounds of 68. Wyatt, who also tied for first at the Husker Shootout triangular last spring, has scored a team-best four rounds in the 60s in the past two seasons.

Florida Southern took home the team title with an 852 and Florida Southern's Matt Stauch was the medalist at 204 (-12).

The Huskers travel to the opposite side of the country next week as they compete in the Jackrabbit Invitational in Primm, Nev., March 15-16.
