Davis, Evenstad Named All-Big 12

Irving, Texas- Two Huskers were named to the 2010 All-Big 12 Team, the conference office announced Wednesday. Junior Erin Davis and sophomore Lora Evenstad combined for two all-conference awards.

Davis landed all-conference honors on vault with a 9.935 RQS that ranks second in the country. She is a two-time All-Big 12 honoree on vault.

Evenstad earned the first All-Big 12 honors of her career on floor with a 9.90 RQS that ties her at 16th in the country. She previously earned All-Big 12 Championship Team accolades on floor as a freshman.

All-Big 12 teams include the top four conference gymnasts with the highest regional qualifying score (RQS) in each event and two all-around competitors. RQS figures are based off the final regular-season GymInfo rankings.

Nebraska will pursue its ninth Big 12 team championship on Saturday, March 27 at the Devaney Center. Competition is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. and tickets can be purchased by going to Huskers.com or calling 800-8BIGRED.
