Huskers Finish Sixth at 2010 Desert Shootout

Goodyear, Ariz. - Led by Andrew Wyatt's tie-for-fifth finish, the Nebraska men's golf team wrapped up the 2010 Desert Shootout in sixth place on Saturday at Palm Valley Golf Club.

Wyatt recorded a 69 in the final round to help lead the Huskers to a day-best 286 total and a final team score of 861. The Big Red finished six strokes behind the team champion, Wichita State.

Wyatt finished the tournament at six-under-par 210. Brandon Crick scored a team-low 68 on Saturday to move up 27 spots into 10th overall at 212. Brett Nymeyer tied for 23rd at 216, while Scott Willman tied for 61st at 224. Mike Coatman shot 229 and tied for 81st. Neil Dufford tied for 67th with a 225 total.

Wichita State's Dustin Garza took home medalist honors with a 14-under-par 202.

The Huskers now take a two-week break before competing at the Diet Pepsi Shocker Classic in Wichita, Kan., April 5-6.
