Huskers Tied for 10th at 2010 Desert Shootout

Goodyear, Ariz. - Fresh off its first tournament title of the season, the Nebraska men's golf team is tied for 10th after round one at the 2010 Desert Shootout at Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Ariz., on Thursday.

The Huskers, only two days removed from winning the Jackrabbit Invitational, scored an even-par 288 team score and are 11 strokes behind Pacific for the lead.

NU's Brett Nymeyer and Andrew Wyatt each shot one-under-par 71 and are tied for 25th.

Brandon Crick and Scott Willman are tied for 50th after shooting 73, while Mike Coatman is tied for 72nd after recording a 75. 

As an individual, Neil Dufford carded a 73 to end the day in a tie for 50th.

Alex Johnson, of Pacific, shot 66 and leads by one stroke.

The second round begins Friday at 8 a.m. (Central time).
