Coatman, Huskers in Fourth after Round One of Rice Intercollegiate

Houston - After round one of the Rice Intercollegiate Monday afternoon at Westwood Golf Club, the Nebraska men's golf team finds itself in fourth place in the 15-team field with a team score of 308. Mike Coatman led the Huskers in the first round with a 74 and is tied for fourth.

With temperatures in the 40s and wind gusts between 15-25 mph, no individual finished in red numbers in the morning round. Rice's Michael Whitehead led the field with an even-par 72. Rice holds the team lead at 297, while Auburn (300) and Northern Colorado (307) follow close behind.

Brett Nymeyer scored a 76 to head into the afternoon break tied for 11th. Brandon Crick shot 78 and is tied for 28th. Andrew Wyatt recorded an 80 and sits tied for 48th, and Scott Willman is tied for 63rd after shooting 83. Neil Dufford, competing as an individual, also carded an 83.
