Former Husker Price Earns Undergraduate Degree

Lincoln - A talented group of 34 University of Nebraska student-athletes, including former Nebraska men's golfer Trent Price, earned their bachelor's degrees from the University of Nebraska during winter commencement ceremonies at the Bob Devaney Sports on Saturday morning.

A business administration major, Price was a standout in the classroom during his Husker career. Price was named to the Acadmeic All-Big 12 first team in 2008 and 2009, making him only the third Husker since the formation of the Big 12 to make at least two career appearances on the Academic All-Big 12 first team. He also qualified for the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll six times in his career.

Price competed in 49 career rounds for the Big Red, averaging a 77.10 stroke average. In his freshman year, Price scored a career-low round of 69 and a career-best 216 total at the Ron Moore Invitational. He earned two top-20 finishes in his career.

Price was one of the top junior golfers in the state in his high school career at Lincoln Southeast. He captured the 2002 Junior Match Play title before his sophomore year at Southeast and was also a member of Nebraska's junior team for the prestigious Nebraska-Kansas Junior Cup matches in 2002 and 2003. Price won the Nebraska Class A state tournament in 2005 as a senior with a record-low score of 134.

Trent is the son of Randy and Katie Price and has one brother, Taylor.

Nebraska's 2009 December class of graduates helped build on the Huskers' great student-athlete tradition, which includes an NCAA-leading 271 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans across all sports. Nebraska continues to feature one of the highest graduation rates in the nation with a Big 12-leading exhausted eligibility graduation rate of 94 percent.
