Nebraska Post-Match Notes
- With the win, Nebraska pushed its season-best win streak to 10 games and improved to 26-6 on the year. The Huskers have swept all 10 opponents during their win streak and have not lost a set since being swept 3-0 at Texas on Oct. 30.
- In making their NCAA-leading 16th consecutive NCAA Regional appearance, the Huskers improved their all-time record to 31-14 in NCAA Regional play, including a 14-4 mark under 10th-year head coach John Cook.
- Nebraska has advanced to the Regional Final for the sixth straight season, the longest current streak in the country. The Huskers won the final and secured a spot in the National Semifinals in 2005, 2006 and 2008.
- The Huskers' opponent on Saturday night's Regional Final will be No. 2 seed Texas, who swept Nebraska in the regular season, winning 3-1 in Lincoln and 3-0 in Austin. The Regional Final will begin at 8 p.m. (Central) and will be televised by ESPNU.
- Nebraska improved its all-time NCAA Tournament record to 80-24, as the Huskers rank second nationally to Stanford in NCAA Tournament victories and winning percentage.
- The win also increased Nebraska's series lead over Iowa State to 76-1, with the Cyclones lone victory coming in Lincoln this season. Nebraska has won the season series every year the teams have played.
- The Huskers also improved to 15-2 at the Qwest Center, including a 10-1 mark against top-five opponents and a 5-1 record at the Qwest in NCAA Tournament matches.
- Nebraska hit .324 in the victory. Nebraska is the only team in the past 41 matches to hit .300 or better against the Cyclones, a feat the Huskers have accomplished twice (NU hit .327 at Iowa State last month).
- Iowa State hit a season-low .096 and became the 10th opponent the Huskers have held under .100 this season. NU is 10-0 this season when holding the opponent under .100 hitting and 123-0 under Coach Cook.
- Nebraska has held six straight opponents to .150 hitting or less.
- The Huskers' middle blockers - Kori Cooper and Brooke Delano - combined for 18 kills on 37 swings with only two errors.
- Cooper hit .562 on the match, marking the fourth time she has hit .500 or better this season.
- Lindsey Licht led Nebraska with 10 kills - including six in the opening set - as she led the Huskers in kills for the 10th time this season.
Iowa State Post-Match Notes
- Iowa State finished its season with a 27-5 record, establishing a school record for most victories in the NCAA era.
- Tonight's loss snapped a seven-match winning streak for Iowa State. Overall, the Cyclones won 18 of their final 20 matches, with both losses coming in sweeps to the Huskers.
- The Cyclones advanced to an NCAA Regional for the third straight season, but fell one win short of matching last year's squad for the best NCAA Tournament finish in program history.
- Iowa State fell to 9-5 all-time in the NCAA Tournament, including an 8-4 mark under fifth-year head coach Christy Johnson-Lynch.
- ISU fell to 3-1 this season in televised matches.
- The Cyclones finished the year with a 4-5 record against ranked teams, including 2-3 vs. the top 10.
- Iowa State hit a season-low .096 in the match. The Cyclones also allowed Nebraska to hit .324, the second-highest opponent total of the season, trailing on the Huskers' .327 mark last month in Ames.
- Ashley Mass finished with 14 digs in tonight's match. It was the 92nd time in her career that the junior has recorded at least 10 digs in a match, including the 22nd straight match. The Iowa State record is 93 set by Steph McCannon from 1992 to 1995.
- Kaylee Manns finished with 23 assists and 13 digs to record her 18th double-double of the season. She finished her career with 68 double-doubles, a total that ranks second in Iowa State history.
- Victoria Henson led Iowa State with 13 kills, as Iowa State dropped to 18-4 this season when Henson led the Cyclones in kills.
