The Nebraska football team completed its last official practice before the Big 12 Championship Game against No. 3 Texas with a two-hour workout inside the warm confines of the Hawks Championship Center Thursday afternoon.
"I thought the detail was good," Head Coach Bo Pelini said. "I thought it was a good practice. I thought it was a good week of practice."
Despite the fact that NU is playing in its biggest game of the season, Pelini said the team was able to prepare this week like they always do.
"Our approach wasn't different than it is every other week," Pelini said. "We know what we've got in front of us. We don't treat this week different than we have every other week and our kids approach it the same way."
One key to the game on Saturday will be who can win the turnover battle. Texas is No. 1 in the Big 12 with a plus-12 turnover margin. Nebraska is tied for fifth at plus four.
"We want to win the turnover battle," Pelini said. "If we do, it's going to give us a good chance to win the football game. If we don't, it's always hard to win. It's something that both teams have been pretty good at. We've got to win that area."
The Huskers will leave for Dallas on Friday and take a quick look at the new Cowboys' Stadium before heading to the team hotel.
"(We) just wanted to make sure the kids saw it before we got over to the stadium on Saturday," Pelini said. "We're taking a quick look at it, walk around and then we're going to head right to the hotel."
The Huskers and Longhorns will battle for the conference title Saturday night at 7:13 on ABC.
