? Tonight’s win over No. 20 Oklahoma marks Nebraska’s second straight win over a ranked opponent. The Huskers also defeated then-No. 24 Missouri, 27-12, in Columbia, Mo., on Oct. 8 this season.
? The win breaks Oklahoma’s four-game winning streak over the Huskers. Nebraska now owns a 22-18-2 edge in games in Lincoln.
? Nebraska improved to 4-1 in the month of November under coach Bo Pelini, with the only loss last year at No. 4 Oklahoma.
? Nebraska senior defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh blocked a Sooner field goal attempt in the first quarter. The block was the third blocked kick for Suh this season (also FG and PAT vs. ISU). The three blocked kicks this season is a defensive line record, breaking his own record set last season.
? Suh now has six career blocked kicks, just one off the Nebraska career record of seven blocked kicks by defensive back Barron Miles from 1992 to 1994.
? Suh finished the game with four tackles, although his streak of 12 straight games with at least one TFL ended. He also added a pass breakup in the first quarter, giving him a position record eight breakups this season and a position record 12 breakups in his career. He also had three quarterback hurries and now leads the team with 17 hurries this season.
? Senior safety Matt O’Hanlon had a career-high12 tackles in tonight’s game, bettering his eight tackles last season against Virginia Tech. O’Hanlon’s previous season high was five tackles in four games this season. O’Hanlon reached his career high before intermission with nine first-half stops.
? O’Hanlon tied the school record as he became the fourth player in Nebraska history to intercept three passes in a game and the first since Ric Lindquist intercepted three against Kansas State Nov. 10, 1979. It was the first multiple-interception game by a Husker since Cortney Grixby who had two picks against Iowa State on Sept. 29, 2007.
? All three of his interceptions came in the second half, giving him four picks on the season and the team lead. O’Hanlon has five career interceptions and has returned those for a total of 69 yards. O’Hanlon returned a third-quarter interception 30 yards to the OU 44, setting NU up for a field goal that gave NU a 10-3 lead.
? Nebraska junior cornerback Prince Amukamara set up NU’s first score of the game with a 22-yard interception return in the second quarter. His 22-yard return was a career long, and it was his third of the season, trailing only O’Hanlon.
? Nebraska's five interceptions were its most since recording five picks against Texas A&M on Oct. 18, 2003.
? Nebraska sophomore defensive tackle Jared Crick finished tonight’s game with eight tackles, including sharing a six-yard sack alongside Barry Turner. Crick pushed his season sacks total to nine, the most by a Husker since 2005. Crick’s nine sacks leave him one shy of the top 10 on the Nebraska single-season list. Crick has at least 0.5 sack in six of nine games this season and at least one TFL in seven of nine games this year.
? Senior linebacker Phillip Dillard, a native of Tulsa, Okla., had eight tackles in tonight’s game, marking his fourth straight game with at least five tackles. Dillard had a 13-yard sack in the first quarter and finished the game with two tackles for loss, while also adding a late interception he returned for nine yards.
? Nebraska junior Alex Henery once again played a big role on special teams. Henery punted 11 times for an average of 43.7 yards per attempt. Henery downed two punts inside the Sooner 20-yard line, including a 66-yard boot in the first quarter that pinned the Sooners at their own 2. Henery entered the game leading the Big 12 with 17 punts downed inside the opposition’s 20-yard line.
? Henery connected on a 28-yard field goal in the third quarter, but missed a 43-yarder in the fourth quarter. He is now 12-of-15 on field goals this season and 38-of-44 in his career. Henery’s 43-yard miss ended a streak of 25 straight made field goals of less than 50 yards.
? Nebraska junior I-back Roy Helu Jr. rushed 20 times for 138 yards in tonight’s game, marking his sixth career 100-yard rushing game and his third in 2009. Helu has had two of his 100-yard rushing efforts against Oklahoma (157 at OU last season).
? Helu’s 63-yard run in the second quarter was a career-long rush, bettering his 57-yard scamper at Oklahoma last season. The 63-yard run was also the longest run from scrimmage by a Nebraska player this season. Helu’s 138 rushing yards were his most rushing yards since his career-high 169 yards at Virginia Tech.
? Helu has excelled against nationally ranked opponents. In NU’s past five games against nationally ranked foes (TT, OU, VT, MU, OU) Helu has rushed 92 times for 599 yards, an average of 6.5 yards per carry. He has gained better than 100 yards in three of those five games.
? Nebraska was +4 in turnover margin in tonight’s game. In six wins this season the Huskers are plus-12, while the Huskers are minus-12 in turnover margin in their three losses. Nebraska’s five takeaways tonight resulted in all 10 of Nebraska’s points.
? The Blackshirt defense held Oklahoma to just three points in the game. The Huskers have limited 7-of-9 opponents to 16 or fewer points and have allowed just 93 points through nine games. Nebraska has allowed just eight offensive touchdowns in nine games, including only three passing touchdowns.
? Oklahoma rushed for 80 yards in tonight’s game to mark the eighth time in its last 11 games NU has allowed 102 or fewer rushing yards. The Sooners averaged just 2.8 yards per carry, the seventh straight opponent to average fewer than 3.0 yards per rush against NU. Nebraska has not allowed a rush of longer than 23 yards in Big 12 play.
? Nebraska scored first in tonight’s game, marking the second straight week Nebraska scored first. Prior to the Baylor game, the opposition scored first in Nebraska’s previous seven games against BCS opponents.
? Oklahoma gained 325 total yards in tonight’s game, breaking a streak of Nebraska holding seven straight foes to less than 280 yards.
? Oklahoma completed 26-of-58 passes, marking the sixth opponent NU has held to less than 50 percent passing.
