Lincoln ? The Nebraska basketball team, under the direction of fourth-year coach Doc Sadler, will open the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 14 when it faces South Carolina Upstate at the Devaney Center. Tipoff for the contest is now set for 7 p.m.
The athletic department was waiting to announce the basketball start time until the Nebraska-Kansas football game time was determined so that fans within the state could plan to see both. It was announced earlier today that NU’s game with the Jayhawks will kick off at 2:30 p.m. in Lawrence, Kan., and will be carried regionally on ABC. Audio for the basketball contest will available live on Huskers.com for free, and fans can check with their local IMG Husker Sports Radio Network affiliates for more information on broadcast coverage.
The Husker basketball team opens the season looking for its fifth postseason appearance in seven years, and third straight under Sadler. NU returns four scholarship letterwinners from last year’s 18-13 squad, and has 10 scholarship newcomers to add into the mix.
