Huskers Tie for Third at Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate

Palm Desert, Calif. - The Nebraska men's golf team finished in a tie for third place at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate at the Classic Club on Tuesday. The Huskers shot a final-round 291 and finished at 877, five strokes behind team champion Santa Clara.

Brandon Crick paced the Huskers with a tie-for-fifth finish, the 12th top-10 finish in his career. Crick shot a two-under-par 70 in the final round and finished at 215 (-1), his best finish of the season.

Andrew Wyatt tied for 23rd with a stroke total of 222. Scott Willman's 73 on Tuesday moved him into the top one-third of the field, as he tied for 26th. Mike Coatman climbed into a tie for 30th after shooting 73 in the final round, and Brett Nymeyer tied for 36th at 225.

The finish marks the second top-three finish for NU through three tournaments this fall. The Huskers are off next week and resume action Oct. 19-20 at the UMKC Bill Ross Intercollegiate in Kansas City.
