Huskers.com has a new capability, and it promises to deliver what Nebraska fans want most ... more video. Just click the "Top Videos" Tab above the main feature, and you will have instant access to 12 timely videos, four at a time.
The first four include Ryan Anderson talking about Nebraska's upcoming basketball season, Grant Wistrom describing his Hall of Fame honor, Shawn Watson talking about Wednesday's football practice and a feature with Video Coordinator Mike Nobler explaining how Husker coaches and players use video.
Next to the N-House feature on Nobler in the video box is an arrow in the lower right-hand corner. Hit it, and you have quick and easy access to the next four videos in the 12-video rotation ... a One-on-One feature with Niles Paul interviewing his receiver coach, Ted Gilmore; a feature on Husker setters; player interviews from the Nebraska Volleyball Show; and highlights from last week's volleyball win over Oklahoma.
Hit the arrow again, and you will have four Nebraska head coaches staring you in the face ... this week's press conferences with John Cook and Bo Pelini, plus Doc Sadler's comments at Big 12 Media Day and Connie Yori's comments on her team.
"Video is a big differentiator for Huskers.com," said Randy York, who directs Nebraska's official athletic website. "When we increased our capacity to deliver more video several months ago, fans responded in record fashion. In September alone, we had more than 200,000 full video plays, so we didn't have to survey our fans. They were telling us what they wanted by pushing the play arrow."
There was only one problem. "Top videos can only last so long in our top rotation," York said. "That's why we developed and launched a Top Videos Tab. It solves our problem and enables increased demand."
