For the Huskers, This Week is Operation Bounce Back <?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>
It’s been regroup week for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. As much as fans don’t want to hear that, and coaches don’t like to have a week like this one, the truth is all programs have to bounce back like this every year.
Nebraska has some issues on the offense. Injuries and dismissals have taken their toll on the running back position, and NU is going through growing pains at both quarterback and wide receiver.
Most fans are screaming for a change at quarterback. I can understand that, but keep in mind it isn’t all Zac Lee’s fault that the offense has struggled in the last two games. That’s why Bo Pelini has been consistent in saying that he isn’t going to make wholesale changes with the lineup, so look for Lee to take the field against the Cyclones on Saturday.
Iowa State is 4-3 with a couple of heartbreaking losses to K-State and KU. ISU is only a couple of plays away from being 6-1 and 3-0 in Big 12 action.
Austen Arnaud is the signal caller for ISU. The junior from Ames has had an up-and-down career for the Cyclones, but he brings a wealth of experience and has some talented weapons at his disposal, including running back Alexander Robinson and wide receiver Marquis Hamilton.
Defensively, the Cyclones are improving, but this should be a group that the Huskers can start to build up some confidence. With a road game at Baylor and a home game against OU coming up after this one, confidence is a big key for the Huskers.
The weather should be good for this game and so should the outcome.
Go Big Red!
