  • FAU facing ranked opponents: Nebraska is the 16th opponent FAU has faced since inception.  Nebraska is the second ranked opponent FAU has faced in the season opener. The Owls opened at Texas in 2008.
  • Cortez Gent recorded the first reception of the game to pull within four of the all time reception record. Gent tied the program record for all time receptions with Anthony Crissinger-Hill late in the third. The duo have 136 career receptions.
  • Jeff Van Camp entered the second quarter of the game returning to Coach Howard Schnellenberger’s commitment to play the second quarterback in the second quarter of the game. His first completion of the day was to William Rose for a gain of 11. His first drive of the game ended with a 21 yard field goal by Ross Gornall. The drive was 11 plays and 71 yards.
  • William Rose collected second quarter reception for 36 yards. It was the second longest of his four-year career. The longest was a 56 yard reception at the University of Florida in 2007.
  • Avonnie Rolle returned his first career kick return for 25 yards.
