On how eager he is to get back on the field<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>
“I’m definitely eager to get back on the field. It was a tough loss to take. I think the best cure is to move on to the next game and get it underway.”
On putting the loss in perspective for younger players
“Everybody takes it differently. With that being said, certain people are going to deal with it certain ways, and certain people are going to deal with it other ways. Me, personally, you go back and look at your mistakes, which were very few in my eyes of the defense. That being said, there were a lot of mistakes in that last drive, a lot of missed opportunities to make plays.”
On how he will ensure the Huskers play with passion on Saturday
“Go out there and start it at practice. It’s not just going to happen on Saturday. You’ve got to instill that from the beginning of the season and from the beginning of the week.”
On if the loss motivates him more
“Yeah, it definitely motivates you. In my personal eyes, we should’ve had that win obviously. The reason why we didn’t is because mistakes were happening on both sides of the ball. If we limit our mistakes, I don’t see a game that we can’t win, a game that we can’t take. Obviously we didn’t go out there and take that game, so that’s the reason why we lost.”
On being a part of the 300th consecutive sellout
“That’s something huge. There’s only 150 guys who can say they were a part of that game, and only maybe 40 of those that can say they played in it. That’s a huge thing that you can have on your shoulders. You definitely want to go out there and not only get that win for ourselves, but for the people that have supported us for the last 300 games.”
