TEAM

l The crowd of 85,035 was the fifth largest to ever watch an Arkansas State game.  The record crowd to watch an ASU game is 102,368 is the record, set at Tennessee in 2007.  Four of the top five games with the largest crowds to watch an ASU game have now been played with Steve Roberts as the Red Wolves head coach.

l Nebraska was the 10th ASU opponent ranked among the nation’s top-25 teams at the time of a game with the Red Wolves under head coach Steve Roberts.

 

DEFENSE

l Alex Carrington recorded his first sack of the season, giving him 13.5 sacks for his career.  Carrington needs 2.5 more sacks to tie the fifth most in ASU history.

l Cordarious Mingo (7), Demario Davis (10), Kelcie McCray (5) and Nathan Herrold (6) all set new career highs for tackles in a game.

l Redshirt freshman linebacker Nathan Herrold posted the first sack of his career.

 

OFFENSE

l Reggie Arnold posted his fifth rushing touchdown of the season, which was also the 26th of his career.  The score places Arnold in a tie with Calvin Harrell (1968-71) for the third most rushing touchdowns in school history.

l Arnold passed Louisiana-Monroe’s Calvin Dawson (2004-07) for fourth place among the Sun Belt Conference’s all-time rushing leaders.

l Kiano Prater and Alfred Louis both made their first career starts along the offensive line.  Prater started at left tackle, while Louis was starting left guard.

l Redshirt freshman Kedric Murry’s 43-yard reception in the third quarter was the longest of his career.  It was also the third longest play by the ASU offense this season.

l Jahbari McLennan set a new career high for receptionswith seven for 69 yards.  His 69 yards were 10 shy of his career high of 79 set at North Texas last season.

                             

SPECIAL TEAMS

l In the second game of his career as ASU’s punter, Ryan Wilbourn booted a career-best 59-yard punt in the second quarter.  After averaging 20.1 yards per punt last week, Wilbourn averaged 45.0 against Nebraska and had four punts of over 40 yards.

l Brandon Thompkins returned one kickoff for 19 yards, leaving him 50 yards shy of becoming the first player in ASU history to post 2,000 career kickoff return yards.

l Josh Arauco made his first field goal of the season, a 42-yarder, three yards short of his career long.  Arauco is now 8-of-12 on field goal attempts of 40 yards or longer during his career.
