Four Gymnasts Named Scholastic All-Americans

Lincoln, Neb. - Four Nebraska gymnasts were honored for academic excellence by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women as Scholastic All-Americans, the association announced.

The Huskers' selection included an impressive group dominated by underclassmen. Kristin Fyffe led the way with a 3.87 GPA. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Fyffe is an undeclared major at Nebraska. Following her lead was Kassandra Nathe, posting a 3.68 GPA. Nathe is an undeclared major from Sartell, Minn. In addition, Claire Stingley and Kailey Ryan rounded out the group, each earning a 3.58 GPA. Stingley is an International Studies major from Villa Park, Ill., and Ryan is a Russian and Nutrition Science major from Franklin, N.C.

In order to be named as an individual scholar athlete by the NACGC/W, student-athletes must possess a 3.5 or higher current or cumulative GPA.

The NACGC/W is the national association for women's collegiate gymnastics coaches. The association seeks to actively manage and develop the sport of women's gymnastics at the collegiate level and works with the NCAA and USA Gymnastics in order to provide the best possible experience for student-athletes.
