While the Husker basketball schedule includes one more home game than last year, the Nebraska Athletic Department will hold total costs for season tickets at the same price-point for the second year in a row. The athletic department also announced a new mini ticket plan that will allow fans who cannot make it to every game to still have a chance to get in on the action at the Devaney Center.
Fans of the Huskers and coach Doc Sadler will be getting an added value by purchasing season tickets, which will again start at just $99 for the complete 20-game home schedule. New public season tickets will be available for purchase beginning Monday, July 27. Fans wanting to get in on the action can log onto Huskers.com or call the Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-8BIGRED to order new season tickets starting next week.
Public ticket packages for new customers will be available in the C-level plastic chairbacks and the upper benches. A limited number of A, B or C-level padded may also be available after the season ticket renewal period. Check with the Athletic Ticket Office for more information on possible seating upgrades and pricing, which will include a donation.
Several new options are also available this season as Nebraska guns for its third straight postseason appearance under Sadler.
“With the continued improvement the team has shown under Coach Sadler, we’ve heard from more people than ever who want to come out to support the Huskers at home and we’re acting on those suggestions,” Executive Associate A.D. Marc Boehm said. “Coach Sadler has said many times how much a full house can affect a game, and how important it is not only for the students, but all the fans to join together in the Devaney Center. We also understand that the economy has affected everyone recently, which is why we felt it was important to make Nebraska basketball accessible for as many people as possible. Hopefully by adding several new ticket packages at these pricing options we can make that happen.”
For fans purchasing new season tickets, the best value option for the upcoming season will be the $99 upper bench seats. Fans in this section will be paying less than $5 per game ($4.95) to see the Huskers over the course of 20 contests. Among the highlights of the home campaign will be games against TCU and Oregon State in non-conference action, along with Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas State, Texas Tech, Baylor, Iowa State and Colorado during Big 12 Conference action.
Another public season ticket option available on July 27 will be the plastic chairbacks in C-level rows 19 to 28, which will again cost $190 for the season. The total averages to just $9.50 per game during the season, an excellent value and a savings of 50 cents per game over the average price of a season ticket in the same area last year.
The new mini ticket plans (five games in each) are expected to sell quickly. The plan has two options (Scarlet or Cream) for seats located in the plastic chairbacks and each option includes three non-conference games and two Big 12 contests for only $49.
Fans choosing this economical option will garner a savings of more than $20 over purchasing each date as a single-game ticket. In the options, the Scarlet ticket package will include a ticket to see the Huskers take on Texas-Pan American, Southern Utah and TCU before Christmas along with the Oklahoma and Colorado contests. The Cream ticket plan will include games against UMKC, Oregon State and Southeastern Louisiana in non-conference play and Missouri and Baylor during the league slate.
Also new this year is the Valentino’s Value Pack, which will go on sale when single-game tickets are available on Nov. 2. The pack will include four single-game tickets to one of five select non-conference Saturday games, four slices of Valentino’s pizza and four 24 oz. Pepsi products. Tickets for this ticket option will be located in the upper benches and the total package will cost just $40. The pack can be purchased for any of the following games: South Carolina Upstate, TCU, Oregon State, Jackson State and Maryland Eastern Shore.
Tickets for this package must be purchased at least one day in advance of the game, and can only be purchased by calling the Nebraska Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-8BIGRED.
Other ticket options for 2009-10 include:
