Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada ? Another Husker added their name to the Pan Am Junior Championships this weekend as freshman Jessica Furlan won the 2,000-meter steeplechase at the Canadian Junior Championships.
After earning All-Big 12 honors in the 3,000-meter steeplechase during the collegiate outdoor season, Furlan returned to her home country to successfully defended her title in the steeplechase with a time of 6:51.48.
Furlan will now join Husker teammate and Elkhorn, Neb., native Natalie Willer at the Pan Am Junior Championships in Port of Spain, Trinidad, on July 31 ? August 2. While Willer competes in the pole vault for Team USA, Furlan will compete in the steeplechase for Canadian National Team. A full schedule of the meet has not been released yet.
