Jolly Earns Degree

Lincoln - Senior Courtney Jolly received her bachelor’s degree in animal science during spring commencement exercises at the BobDevaneySportsCenter on Saturday, May 9.

 

Jolly, a native of Plantation, Fla., was one of Nebraska’s top divers over the last four seasons and leaves NU as one of the top divers in school history. Jolly earned six top-10 finishes at the Big 12 Championships throughout her career, and was a NCAA Zone Diving qualifier in 2007 and 2008. Jolly had 24 first-place finishes in dual meets in her career, including 12 as a senior.

 

Jolly was a standout in the classroom as well, earning first-team Academic All-Big 12 honors four times, and was named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll nine times.

 

Jolly was one of 39 Husker student-athletes across 23 sports to receive their diplomas on Saturday. NU’s student-athlete graduates came to Nebraska from 13 states and two foreign countries, and included 17 graduates from the state of Nebraska.

 

Nebraska’s 2009 class of May graduates combined for 24 All-America awards and one CoSIDA Academic All-America award during their careers as Huskers. Nebraska leads the nation across all teams, all sports and all divisions with 268 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans and features a Big 12-leading 93 percent graduation rate for student-athletes.
