Huskers Edge Tigers, 4-3

Columbia, Mo. - The Nebraska women's tennis team fought back after losing the doubles point to defeat Missouri 4-3 in Columbia, Mo., Friday night. The Huskers improved to 5-4 in the Big 12 and 13-6 overall with the win.

After losing the doubles point and falling behind 1-0, the Huskers stepped up in singles play, winning four of the six matches. The match was tied at 3-3 going into the final match at No. 6 singles, where Stephanie Evans came back from a 0-6, 0-2 deficit to win in three sets, 0-6, 7-6, 6-4, clinching the match for the Huskers.

Mary Weatherholt won at No. 1 singles 6-4, 6-3 for her 33rd singles win of the season. Madeleine Geibert, who was returning from a leg injury which forced her to miss last week's match against Kansas State, won at No. 2 singles 7-6 (5), 6-1. Wiveca Swarting won at No. 4 singles 6-1, 7-5 for her 29th singles win of the season, which moves her into third place on the all-time single-season wins list.

The Huskers travel to Colorado on Sunday for a crucial match against the Buffaloes. The Huskers wrap up their regular season next Wednesday, as they face off with Texas Tech in Norman, Okla., the day before the start of the Big 12 Championships.
