Jacks Edge NU in Husker Shootout

Nebraska City - Nebraska men's golf coach Bill Spangler promptly organized the Husker Shootout on Sunday at ArborLinks Golf Course after the team learned that the Diet Pepsi Shocker Classic, scheduled for March 30-31, had been canceled because of winter weather conditions in Wichita, Kan.  

The Huskers competed with South Dakota State and Morningside in a 36-hole event on Sunday. South Dakota State won with a team score of 584, while the Huskers finished at 587. Morningside wound up with a 644.

NU would have won the event had Brandon Crick been a part of the five-man lineup. Unfortunately, he played as an individual, so his 144, which tied for the best score of the tournament, did not count toward the team score. Andrew Wyatt recorded the other 144.

Nebraska is back in action April 6-7 at the Branson Creek Invitational in Hollister, Mo.
