Game 24: Nebraska (15-7-1)  vs. Northern Colorado (7-15)

The Huskers will go for the two-game sweep this afternoon as they take on Northern Colorado at 1:35 p.m. Sophomore Michael Mariot takes the hill for the Huskers and will be opposed by Nate Steinmetz.

5:00 p.m.
UNC adds another run in the ninth on an RBI single by Adam Hilker and leads 10-7 heading into the bottom of the ninth

4:48 p.m.
We are going to the ninth with the Huskers down 9-7 after going down in order in the eighth

4:41 p.m.
Eric Rose pitches well, fanning two in the eighth inning, as Northern Colorado leads 9-7 heading to the bottom of the eighth

4:31 p.m.
Nebraska fights back with a pair of runs in the seventh, as Nick Sullivan's two-out RBI single makes it 9-7 after seven complete

4:14 p.m.
Northern Colorado uses a homer from Erik Hegstaf and a passed ball on NU to plate three runs and extend their lead to 9-5 heading into the seventh inning stretch.

3:51 p.m.
The Huskers threaten in the sixth, but can't push across a run and trail 6-5 after six complete innings. Nate Kerkhoff now pitching for NU

The Husker lead was short-lived as Northern Colorado plated three runs in the top of the sixth, stringing together five hits, including a two-run single from Jarod Berggren to earn its first lead of the day.

Nebraska pushes across a pair of runs to lead 5-3 after five innings, getting an RBI single from Tyler Farst and plating another ona wild pitch

3:03 p.m.
Sean Yost sets down the Bears in order in the top of the fifth. NU is being out-hit 4-2, but we are still tied at three apiece.

2:56 p.m.
Steinmetz retires the Huskers in order in the bottom of the fourth inning. NU and UNC are tied at three after four innings

2:51 p.m.
Sean Yost works out of a jam with runners on second and third and one out, getting a pair of ground outs. We are tied entering the bottom of the fourth inning

Nebraska is retired in order in the bottom of the third inning and we remained tied at three apiece.

Northern Colorado tied the score with three runs in the top of the third, including a two-run homer by Mike Raudenbush. Sean Yost now pitching for NU

Talk about debuts....Jed Hanson sends the first pitch he faces as a Husker over the fence in left for his first carer homer to give NU a 3-0 lead.

Mariot retires the Bears in order in the second

Nebraska take a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first, getting an RBI single from Boomer Collins and a run-scroing ground out by Jeff Tezak

Mariot works around a one-out walk to escape without harm, retiring the next two hitters to end the inning. Huskers coming to bat in the bottom of the first

It is 51 degrees at game time with winds coming from the Northwest at 17-23 MPH. In otherwords, its warmer and less windier than Thursday's game

Northern Colorado catcher Hunter Nolen suffered a sprained ankle on the eighth-inning collision with DJ Belfonte on the game-winning play and is not in the UNC lineup today
