Registration Closed for Husker Youth Experience

On-line registration for the Husker Youth Experience went active on Tuesday, March 10, at 10 a.m. (central) and closed at 10:55 a.m. The only way to register for the event was through on-line registration at Huskers.com and the event was limited to the first 450 youth who registered for the free event.

Registration closed at 10:55 a.m. because the predetermined limit was reached in the on-line process.

The Husker Youth Experience is designed to provide children ages 8 through 8th grade an opportunity to be coached by the University of Nebraska coaching staff and Nebraska players.  The event is set for Saturday, March 28 at Memorial Stadium.

Pre-registered participants will be able to attend a portion of Nebraska's football practice, before working on drills and fundamentals with Nebraska coaches and players.

Last season, registration was open for less than 24 hours before reaching capacity.

Place: Memorial Stadium 
(Check-in at West Stadium entrance beginning at 9 a.m. - All participants will be required to check in prior to attending practice, which begins at approximately 8:30 a.m. Practice subject to change and location.)

In case of inclement weather, the Husker Youth Experience will be held at Cook Pavilion or the Hawks Championship Center.

Participation Requirements

• Children 8 through 8th Grade
• Cannot be enrolled in 9th Grade or above

Equipment Requirements

• Tennis shoes/rubber soled shoes
• Suggested apparel: Nebraska T-shirt/Nebraska sweatshirt, shorts/sweatpants
• Please do not wear other college apparel (including hats/caps)
• The participants will not use helmets or shoulder pads

Drills and Fundamentals
Following Nebraska Football Practice - which will end at approximately 10:30 a.m.
(Four 10-minute segments teaching the following fundamentals)

• Form Tackling 
• Ball Skills
• Running
• Blocking

Practice on March 28 will be open for the participants, their parents/guardians/coaches to watch prior to the beginning of the event. All participants will be required to check in prior to the event - beginning at 9 a.m. Practice is scheduled to begin at approximately at 8:30 a.m.
