Irving, Texas ? Junior Kylie Stone and senior Tricia Woo were honored as Big 12 Gymnast and Event Specialist of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday. Stone was recognized for the third time of her career, while Woo earned the fourth weekly conference honor of her career.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>
Stone, an All-American on vault, captured her second Gymnast-of-the-Week honor after winning her third consecutive all-around title at Missouri last weekend. The Calgary, Alberta, native scored a season-high 39.35 in the all-around against the Tigers and took the top spots on bars (9.875) and floor (9.90), achieving season-highs in both events as well. Stone is ranked 17th nationally in the all-around and 11th on floor.
Woo, a three-time All-American on beam and floor, was recognized as Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week after winning the beam crown and posting a 9.90 for the second time this season. The Milpitas, Calif., native and reigning Big 12 beam champion also took sixth on vault (9.775) and fourth on floor (9.85).
Nebraska opens it’s home schedule this Friday, Jan. 30. Competition is set to begin at 7 p.m. (CST) at the Devaney Center.
