Former Husker Star Brown Earns Degree

Lincoln - One of the most successful women's golfers in school history, Elli Brown earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska during commencement exercises Saturday at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

Brown, who completed her eligibility in 2007-08 for the Huskers, was an All-Big 12 performer both on and off the course for Nebraska during her career.

She was one of 26 NU student-athletes to receive their diplomas on Saturday in Lincoln.

A business administration major, Brown was a three-time academic All-Big 12 selection and a six-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll. She also finished third individually at the 2007 Big 12 Championships to secure first-team All-Big 12 accolades on the course.

The native of Meridian, Idaho, produced 30 career top-25 individual finishes, including 13 top-10 showings as a Husker. She helped lead NU to one of the best seasons in school history in 2006, as the Huskers finished 20th at the NCAA Championships. She carried NU to three straight NCAA Regional appearances in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
