Krenk to be Honored Saturday as Hometown Husker

The Nebraska Athletic Department and men’s basketball program will honor senior guard Nick Krenk as a Hometown Husker on Saturday, Dec. 20, during the Nebraska men’s basketball game against IPFW. Krenk will be featured on the video boards during pregame warm-ups and a video of highlights and interviews about Krenk will be played at halftime.

Fans from Krenk’s hometown, Nebraska City, have the opportunity to come out and show support for their Hometown Husker, as they can receive a reduced-price group ticket rate for Saturday’s game. For information on the group rate, contact the Nebraska Athletic Ticket Office at 800-8BIGRED through Friday, Dec. 19.

A two-time letterwinner, Krenk has been a member of the Huskers’ travel squad during Big 12 Conference play each of the past two seasons after originally joining the team as a student manager in Coach Doc Sadler’s first year on the sideline. When injuries depleted the squad, Krenk filled in during practice and his enthusiasm and work ethic led to a walk-on position with the team. He has played in 22 career games and has hit 33 percent from the floor with eight points and four assists.

The Huskers and Mastodons will tip off at the Bob Devaney Sports Center at 5 p.m. on Saturday, as the time was changed from the originally scheduled 7 p.m.
