Former Nebraska standout golfer Scott Gutschewski earned back a PGA Tour Card Sunday after finishing 21st on the Nationwide Tour money list, earning $238,215. The top 25 on the money list at season's end earned a spot on next year's PGA Tour.
Gutschewski - who entered the final tournament of the season, the Nationwide Tour Championship, in 24th place on the money list -needed a strong showing to clinch a spot. Gutschewski did just that, tying for ninth in the field and making his way back onto the PGA Tour.
Gutschewski earned a PGA Tour card in 2004 after finishing 17th on the money list. He played 69 career PGA events from 2004-07, recording two top-10 finishes in the process.
"I'm excited and looking forward to a lot of things on the PGA TOUR," Gutschewski said. "It's a good life out there. I think I've proved I belong out there. I've had a couple of chances already and I'm glad to have another shot at it."
