Oak Forest, Ill. ? The No. 3 Nebraska bowling team dominated in its second tournament of the season at the Maverick Challenge in Oak Forest, Ill. The Huskers rolled a total pinfall of 12,142 over the three-day tournament, topping second-place Wisconsin-Whitewater by nearly 600 pins.
Junior Cassandra Leuthold captured her sixth-career tournament title and the top spot on the all-tournament team, rolling a season-high average of 204 at the Maverick Challenge. Last week, Leuthold held top honors at the Warhawk Classic with a 200.20 average. Freshman Valerie Calberry also earned a spot on the all-tournament team, rolling a 196 average for fourth-place.
Nebraska will have a two-week break before wrapping up its fall season at the Capital City Collegiate Classic in Jackson, Miss., on Dec. 5-7.
