Huskers Eighth; Coatman Tied for Fifth at Herb Wimberly

Las Cruces, N.M. - The Nebraska men's golf team is tied for eighth place heading into the final round of the 18-team Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate. Nebraska shot a two-round total of 589 and sits 12 strokes behind the leader, Denver.

Sophomore Mike Coatman continued his impressive fall season with a first-round, even-par 71 and a second-round and career-best 69. Coatman is tied for fifth place overall at 140, two shots behind the co-leaders. Coatman sank 11 birdies through the first two rounds and shared the lead heading into the final hole of his second round, but he double-bogied and went into the clubhouse two back.

Brandon Crick is tied for 48th with a 150. Tyler Parsloe rebounded from an opening-round 79 and shot a 72 in the second round to pull into a tie for 53rd at 151. Andrew Wyatt is tied for 60th at 152, and Mark Pillen is tied for 77th with a 155.
