Huskers Finish 14th at Squire Creek Invitational

Choudrant, La. - The Nebraska men's golf team finished 14th Tuesday at the Squire Creek Invitational with a score of 882, the best team score of the year. Sophomore Mike Coatman led Nebraska with a 23rd-place finish at 217. The Huskers fired a 295 in the third round, but were unable to move up in the team standings.

Freshman Austin Zimmerman led the squad with a 72 in the final round. The round was a career-best for the Lincoln Southwest graduate. Zimmerman ended tied for 62nd place at 225.

New Orleans shot an 853 and won the team race after a playoff against LSU. Taylor Coffman of Nevada was the individual medalist, scoring a 207.

The Huskers have one tournament left on the fall slate, the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate, set for Oct. 27-28.
